Report a bug
The Report a Bug tool is built directly into Option Panel, so you can flag any issue or unexpected behaviour without leaving the application.
Opening the form
Section titled “Opening the form”Scroll to the bottom of the left sidebar and click Report Bug. A form slides open on the left side of your screen, with several fields to fill in.
Form fields
Section titled “Form fields”Tells the system whether you are reporting something new or whether your bug is related to one that has already been reported.
- New Issue is the default.
- If an existing report is relevant, select it from the dropdown to link your submission to that thread.
Summary
Section titled “Summary”The title of your report. Keep it short and specific — just enough to describe the problem at a glance.
Description
Section titled “Description”Where you go into more detail. Think of it as answering three questions:
- What were you doing?
- What did you expect to happen?
- What happened instead?
Priority
Section titled “Priority”Lets you communicate how urgent or severe the issue is:
| Priority | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Highest | App unusable — the bug completely prevents you from using the application. |
| High | Major feature broken — an important feature is not working as expected. |
| Medium | Can work around it — the issue exists, but you can still get things done. |
| Low | Minor inconvenience — a small problem that does not affect your overall experience. |
Built-in evidence tools
Section titled “Built-in evidence tools”Three tools that make your report much clearer:
- Attachments — attach any type of file (images, documents, videos).
- Screenshot — takes a snapshot of your current screen, from inside the app.
- Record — captures a screen recording so you can show exactly how the bug behaves in real time.
These tools are especially valuable because you never have to leave Option Panel — or use any outside application — to document what you found.
A worked example
Section titled “A worked example”Imagine the probability of profit field in the Potential section is showing 0% for an open trade and is not calculating any value even though there are active open positions.
Here is how we would report it:
- Issue: New Issue
- Summary: Probability of profit not calculating for open trade
- Description: In Trade #388 (TSLA bull credit spread), the probability-of-profit field in the Potential section shows 0% and is not calculating any value, despite having active open positions.
- Priority: Low — Minor inconvenience
Click Screenshot to attach a capture of exactly what is happening on screen, then click Submit.
Following up
Section titled “Following up”After submitting you can check the status of your report from the Feedback menu in the left sidebar. There you will find not only your own reports but also those submitted by other users. Before creating a new report it is always a good idea to check whether someone else has already flagged the same issue. It saves time and keeps the system clean.
